Team Leader (over 3s) - North Shore, Auckland

Permanent, Full-Time

Are you a Centre Manager wanting to get back on the floor? Or an experienced Team Leader keen for a change? This is a wonderful opportunity to lead a large team in a Reggio-inspired preschool.

You'll be leading the over 3s team in an independent, owner operated centre on Auckland’s North Shore. Our well-regarded centre has high quality learning environments and a curriculum deeply grounded in Reggio Emilia and RIE approaches.

As the over 3s Team Leader, you will enjoy:
  • Leading and mentoring a dynamic team of 9 teachers
  • Sharing in the centre’s philosophy that celebrates children as capable and curious learners, and supporting the rich environment where all children (and teachers!) flourish
  • Learning environments that are thoughtfully designed to spark imagination, supported by natural materials, and spacious indoor and outdoor areas
  • Calm spaces with systems, routines and rituals in place to ensure inquiry based learning can take place
  • Leading your team in designing a local curriculum that honours the children’s voices, reflects their emerging interests and celebrates diversity
  • Fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture that keeps children and whanau at its heart (a long waiting list reflects the value and trust families place in our centre)
  • Driving continuous improvement, inspiring creativity, and embracing reflective practice amongst the team.
  • Fantastic career development opportunities, working alongside a full-time pedagogical leader with access to rich professional development in Reggio-inspired practice
  • An excellent salary package with extended pay parity
The successful applicant will have:
  • Proven leadership experience (preferably with over 3s)
  • An ability to inspire, motivate and bring out the best in the team
  • A passion for fostering an inquiry –based approach to children’s learning
  • Excellent organisational abilities with knowledge of ECE systems and compliance
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritise, plan, and work efficiently

This role is suitable for experienced team leaders or centre managers wanting a change. Applicants must be qualified and registered ECE teachers.
