At Te Whatu Ora Waitemata the Marinoto North Child Adolescent Mental Health Team offers specialist assessment and treatment to young people across the age range from 4 to 18 years.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our dynamic team in Marinoto North. This role offers the opportunity to work across the child and adolescent mental health spectrum using the service delivery model CAPA, the Choice and Partnership Approach and you can learn more about this at www.capa.co.uk
You will deliver evidence-based, client-centred care in collaboration with young people and their whanau, focusing on early intervention, shared decision-making, and strong multidisciplinary partnerships. The role involves conducting Choice appointments, developing and delivering Partnership plans, undertaking specific interventions, and contributing to acute mental health care as required.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Registration with the appropriate New Zealand professional body and a current Annual Practising Certificate
- Proven experience working with children, youth, and their whanau in a mental health context
- Strong understanding of the developmental and mental health needs of young people
- Demonstrated ability in risk assessment and crisis management
- A collaborative approach to working within a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Knowledge of evidence-based models of care in child and adolescent mental health
- Cultural awareness and a commitment to biculturalism and equitable health outcomes for Maori
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse families
- Flexibility, strong time management, and the ability to work both autonomously and in partnership with community agencies
- A valid drivers license
Desirable:
- Experience in community mental health, crisis intervention, or child protection
- Post-graduate training in child and adolescent mental health
- Experience contributing to the diagnosis and management of neurodevelopmental conditions
