Structural Steel Detailer

VIP Structural Steel is a well-established, locally owned, and operated business specialising in the design, supply, fabrication, and erection of structural steel for commercial and residential projects. We are seeking applications from experienced detailers
What you will do:- Reading and understanding architect design drawings
- Converting design drawings into working models using Tekla and AutoCAD software
- Producing shop drawings for workshop fabrication of steel structures
- Liaising with VIP Steel Project Managers
- Contributing to the identification and minimisation of organisational risks and hazards
- Promote a safe working environment and a culture of safe and responsible practices, behaviours, and attitudes
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience
- Experience using Tekla and Bluebeam software in Structural Steel application
- Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and contract instructions
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- Reliable and consistent, with great communication and follow through
- A high regard for health and safety
- Permanent
- Monday-Friday
- Guaranteed minimum 30 hours, normal working hours are 40-45 hours a week
- Pay from $28.50 per hour minimum to $35.00 depending on experience and role.
- Location of the job is Christchurch
