You will support both inpatients and outpatients, helping individuals to meet their needs, promoting independence, safety, self-determination, individual and family wellbeing.This role will be based at Dargaville Hospital, working between Mondays and Fridays.Travel throughout the area is required.Click here to view the position description.About the Team/Service/LocationDargaville Hospital provides hospital level and community care to the people of Kaipara. Services include a 12-bed general ward and an 8-bed detoxification ward with various allied and community health services as well as other health providers available.For more information on living and working in Northland click hereAbout youRegistered Occupational Therapist with a current NZ practicing certificateCurrent NZ full drivers licenseEquipment Assessors AccreditationPrevious experience working in a multi-disciplinary teamGood working knowledge of emotional and social issues as they relate to individuals, their families and the wider communityExcellent communication skillsCompetency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthExperience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settingsPrevious experience within a rural health setting would be preferable however if you have less experience but a lot of interest, we would love to hear from you!Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
