About the Role:
We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistants to support residents in a rest home setting. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about elderly care and wants to provide meaningful support in a facility-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting residents with personal care (showering, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene)
- Manual handling, hoisting, repositioning, and mobility assistance
- Supporting meal preparation, serving, and feeding where required
- Encouraging and helping residents with physical activity and movement
- Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance wellbeing
- Working collaboratively with nursing and facility staff to ensure excellent care
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you will have:
- 3–6 months+ professional experience in healthcare.
- Experience with hoists and manual handling
- Comfortable providing complex care, including bowel and catheter care
- A caring, patient, and respectful approach
- Flexibility to work rostered shifts including evenings, nights, and weekends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Cultural awareness and the ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
