Retail Commercial and Leasing Coordinator
What you will be doing
Auckland Airport is seeking a pro-active and detail-oriented Retail Commercial Leasing Coordinator to join our dynamic retail team. In this role you will provide essential lease administration and support to the Retail Commercial and Leasing team, helping to deliver Auckland Airport’s leasing strategy across the International Terminal, the Domestic terminal and Mānawa Bay Premium Outlets.
You will be working closely with the Manager of Retail Commercial and Leasing to support complex negotiations and strategy execution in a rewarding role and high-value retail environment.
Your key responsibilities are:
- Manage end-to-end lease administration for both Front and Back of House retail, including onboarding, renewals, offboarding, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure leasing accuracy and compliance through tracking tenancy expiries and maintaining records
- Support tenancy planning and retail layout development with data-driven proposals that enhance passenger experience and commercial outcomes.
- Assist in lease negotiations, monitor tenant performance, manage occupancy data, and identify opportunities for new business and short-term activations.
- Lead BOH leasing strategy and space optimization, including tenant relocations, infrastructure changes, and compliance coordination.
- Lead vending and brochure licensing, contributing to broader commercial strategy and revenue targets.

You will be a process driven Retail Commercial Leasing Coordinator with strong commercial acumen, attention to detail and a natural multitasker and organiser. You bring structure, problem-solving, and strategic coordination to every aspect of the leasing lifecycle.Experienced in tenant management and negotiations, you consistently influence outcomes and drive commercial success. Comfortable interfacing across all levels of the business with a proven ability to influence outcomes.
To ensure your success in this role, you will need:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ retail leasing administration or property management experience, including contract and licence creation
- Property and lease Management experience (preferred)
- Strong negotiation skills with property professionals, securing robust legal outcomes
- Skilled in managing multiple stakeholder relationships effectively
- Experienced with legal advice, processes, and documentation
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities to support data-driven decisions
- Solid commercial awareness and business acumen
- Highly motivated to deliver superior results
- Effective team player with strong collaboration skills
- Experience in managing multiple tasks and responsibilities within tight deadlines
- Strong administrative skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
