Position: Medical Receptionist
Location: Waimauku, Auckland
Type: Full-time/Permanent
Pay Range: $28 per hour
Days: Monday to Friday

Hours: Guaranteed at least 30 hours per week

The Company:
Our client is a well-established wellness and rehabilitation clinic based in Point Chevalier. Known for their friendly, professional environment and commitment to culturally responsive care, they provide high-quality support to a diverse community.

They are now looking for a skilled Medical Receptionist to be the welcoming face of the clinic and support their team with top-notch administration and service.

Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Receptionist, your main responsibilities will include ensuring smooth front-of-house operations and providing vital administrative support to the clinical team. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Client Service: Greet clients and visitors with professionalism and empathy, managing enquiries in person, over the phone, and via email. Communicate fluently in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English to meet the needs of all clients.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Manage bookings and clinician calendars using the practice management system, and co-ordinate cancellations and waitlists.
  • Reception & Admin Duties: Maintain accurate records, process referrals, assist with scanning, filing, and ordering supplies, and keep the reception area tidy and welcoming.
  • Billing & Claims: Process payments, issue receipts, reconcile daily transactions, and manage ACC and health insurance claims.
  • Privacy & Compliance: Handle client information confidentially and in line with clinic policies and privacy legislation.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 1 year of experience in an administrative role preferably within the health or wellness sector
  • Good communication skills
  • Fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with practice management systems
  • Experience with ACC and health insurance processes
  • Strong organisational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • A professional, empathetic, and culturally responsive approach
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a busy clinic environment
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  • Must have a clean police report with no charges pending.
