We are looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our Pizza Hut Matamata store.
Position Overview:As an Assistant Manager, you will manage the shift supervisor and team members to lead and manage a high-performing team, ensuring customers receive fast, fresh, and friendly service every time. This is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone with strong people management skills and a passion for customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage customer service standards and handle customer queries
- Control daily operations by scheduling roster
- Ordering food supplies.
- Developing team members, assist with recruitment, training, and performance management
- Monitor food safety, hygiene, and store cleanliness
- Maintain stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory
- Support rostering, budgeting, and cost control
- Ensure all operations comply with company policy and legal standards
- Implement corporate and local marketing opportunities.
- Assisting with recruitment, interviewing and hiring of team members
- Organise and lead regular team meetings.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 1 years’ experience in a hospitality or retail supervisory role
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to motivate and manage staff across a range of shifts
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and health and safety standards in New Zealand.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a team, including availability for evening and weekend work as required.
- Computer Literacy and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Holds a formal qualification equivalent to a New Zealand Level 5 qualification in computer applications.
- Experience in software such as Oracle MICROS, Bringg, and Hutbot will be advantageous.
- Ability to manage inventory and budgeting.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
