Casual on-call shipping supervisor

Logistics Solutions (NZ) Ltd is a privately owned company that specialises in cartage of stock feeds and bulk raw materials from vessels, stores, and feed mills to stores and farms throughout New Zealand.
We’re seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to assist our Shipping team. If you're based near Port Taranaki - or any of the following ports:- Marsden Point
- Auckland
- Tauranga
- you could be just who we’re looking for.
About the Role
This role is responsible for assisting with directing and supervising of transport companies and staff during ship discharges. Key responsibilities include:- Ensuring all shipping operations are completed in a timely manner and meet the standards required by the company and its customers.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with drivers, stevedores, other transport companies, MPI and key customers.
- Excellent people management skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- A good problem solver
- Good understanding and working knowledge of the Grain Import System
- Good understanding and working knowledge of the New Zealand Transport Industry
- A good basic knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Availability to work night shifts

- Use of a company vehicle during the discharge
