  • Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the roleThe Nurse Consultant will work in partnership with the Director of Nursing, service management, medical, allied health and other staff, and contribute to strategic and operational management.Tasks include but are not limited to the following:Work alongside the clinical directors to provide professional clinical leadership to ensure evidence based clinical careIncrease the effectiveness of patient care delivery by leading, developing and supporting evidence-based clinical practice initiatives and projectsApply expert clinical experience, knowledge and skills to develop clinicians, clinical practice and practice developments to provide solutions to systemic problems to reduce harms and improve patient outcomesDevelop and support clinicians and clinical practice with a particular focus on the development of senior clinical staff and leadersEngage with the wider multidisciplinary teams to ensure a consistent and joined-up approach to practice, fostering collegial interprofessional relationships and 'whole of system' thinkingEnsuring internal service structures, practices, and controls to monitor and manage resource utilisation, risk, quality, and compliance are in place and are activeAbout the Team/Service/LocationHealth New Zealand
