It offers services for babies born in Northland and more than 32 weeks gestation, as well as for those born less than 32 weeks until transfer to a tertiary hospital.The Neonatal Unit is located in the recently completed facilities in the Te Kotuku Building at Whangārei Hospital.This is a 10-cot unit.This includes:Care for unwell or premature babies born in NorthlandTransfers to Auckland Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for any baby that is extremely preterm or requires intensive care not provided in Te Tai TokerauCare for babies returning to domicile for ongoing care before discharge homeAssessment of babies in hospitals postnatal wardsFollow up with community team and clinics after discharge if neededFor more information on living and working in Northland click hereAbout youNew Zealand Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing CertificateMinimum 1 year post graduate experience in a hospital settingInitiative and motivationGood team player and ability to work within a multidisciplinary teamExcellent CommunicationExperience in neonates/child health is desirable but not essential to apply.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
