Mō te tūnga | About the roleWe are interested to hear from people who have a caring nature and are family orientated for our Family Home Reliever roles.Our Family Home Relievers provide routine for our tamariki and rangatahi and maintain a safe, caring, responsible and supportive family environment on a 24/7 basis.The mahi is rewarding and varied. You will be responsible for: Day to day care of children and young people, Providing emotional support to high and complex needs children, Liaise with Te Tai Tokerau Placement Hub office about appointments and activities, Working in an Oranga Tamariki family home providing meal preparation, helping with homework, and maintaining a comfortable nurturing and hygienic environment.
As casual staff you get to choose to accept shifts offered that suit your own work / life balance and preference, whilst contributing to positive changes in the lives of tamariki, rangatahi and whānau in our community!While this is a casual opportunity; shifts can extend over a 7 day period and will come up on an as and when required basis to cover our family homes and periods of absence and annual leave for our Kaitiaki/ Family Home Caregivers.At times there will also be requests to transport tamariki and rangatahi and provide care in motels and hospital settings, and supervising access between tamariki, rangatahi and their whanau.
