About the Role We have an opportunity for a casual Health Care Assistant to join our team. Working in kenepuru you will have an opportunity to work on the Health of the older person wards 4 and 5. You will be responsible for caring for a wide range of patients requiring specialist rehabilitation services.
The Health Care Assistant (HCA) is part of the unregulated health workforce and therefore must always work under direction and/or delegation of a Registered Nurse (RN). The HCA role is task-specific and has defined boundaries. The HCA is part of a collaborative health care team; they assist the RN to meet the patient/client needs when it is appropriate for the RN to delegate aspects of care to a trained unregulated healthcare role.
The HCA contributes to the successful operation of the nursing team.About the Team/Service/ Location Ward 4 and 5 is part of the Older Adult, Rehabilitation and Allied Health Service (ORA) operates from Kenepuru Hospital (Porirua).
