Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, season, and cook a wide range of Chinese and Cantonese dishes in accordance with traditional recipes and company standards
• Monitor food quality and presentation before service
• Ensure all food preparation meets hygiene and food safety standards
• Assist with inventory control and stock rotation
• Collaborate with kitchen team to meet daily service requirements
• Train and supervise kitchen assistants and junior staff when required
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen work environment
• Contribute to menu planning and development as needed

Skills & Experience Required:

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen or takeaway setting.
• A New Zealand Level 4 Certificate in Cookery (or equivalent) can substitute for work experience.
• Solid understanding of food safety practices (e.g., proper food storage, cleanliness, avoiding cross-contamination).
• Ability to follow standardised recipes with attention to detail.
• Physically fit, able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive kitchen tasks.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative team attitude.
