With the opening of One New Zealand Stadium just around the corner, we're entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation. We're expanding our teams to prepare for the stadium's launch and to support our full venue portfolio.
About the role
Venues Otautahi is excited to be accepting applications for casual cleaners to join our casual staffing pool.
Behind every great event is a clean, safe, and welcoming space—and that's where YOU come in. We're looking for dependable and detail-oriented Cleaning Crew team members to join our growing team.
As part of the team, you will contribute to the overall presentation and cleanliness of our Venues to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, before, during and after the event. You will be right in the thick of it at times, from concerts, to conferences, to sporting events, to everything in between.
Duties include:
- Getting venues ready before events (sweeping, mopping, setting up bins, etc.)
- Keeping things tidy during events (bathrooms, floors, rubbish, spills)
- Helping clean up after everything wraps up
- Making sure guests have a clean, safe space to enjoy the event
You will be provided with the training and knowledge required to ensure standards are met and will contribute to our ongoing goal of raising our service to new levels.

Venues Otautahi attract and host a wide range of events in Christchurch and manage a diverse and iconic portfolio of community venues, including the Christchurch Town Hall, Wolfbrook Arena, Apollo Projects Stadium, Hagley Oval, the Air Force Museum of New Zealand, and One New Zealand Stadium when its operational.
The events held across the Venues Otautahi portfolio deliver significant social, cultural, and economic benefit to the region and ultimately these iconic city venues play a valued role to the Christchurch way of life and the economic prosperity and social wellbeing of the region.

About You
Ideal candidates will have:
- Prior cleaning experience
- Ability to work early mornings, late nights and / or weekends
- Ability to be flexible and able to get to/from our various venues
- Ability to work unsupervised
- A valid NZ work permit
You will be a self-starter with the ability to think on your feet, in what can be a fast paced and challenging environment.

This campaign represents another expansion of our team as we gear up for an exciting year ahead.
