Gardener - Private Garden - Blenheim
Winterhome Garden, a garden of National significance is a private garden situated on the Kaikoura coast (Kekerengu) half way between Blenheim and Kaikoura.
Winterhome Garden is a unique large-scale garden which incorporates nearly 10 acres of formal gardens and park like grounds providing a wealth of atmospheric vistas nestled above the rugged and picturesque Marlborough coastline.
We currently have an opportunity for a passionate and hardworking gardener to lead Winterhome Garden to its next chapter.
You will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and day to day operations of the garden, as well as playing a pivotal role in hosting garden tours, cruise ship guests and generating future business. Key responsibilities will include mowing, leaf blowing, line trimming, hedge trimming, watering, weeding, tree trimming, pruning, hosting cruise ship visitors and other general maintenance.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and attributes.- Practical with a strong work ethic and an eye for detail.
- Innovative and self-motivated along with a good level of fitness (some heavy lifting required)
- Be comfortable and competent using garden tools and machinery.
- Have a current New Zealand drivers licence.
- Have New Zealand residency or a valid work visa.
This position is full time working 5 days a week ( flexible days), with the occasional weekend for garden festivals and other group bookings.
