We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Unregistered Early Childhood Teacher to join our warm and supportive teaching team at Educare Taupiri.

This is a fixed-term maternity leave cover position, working 30 hours per week from July 2026 until February 2027.

You will play an important role in supporting quality education and care for our tamariki, working collaboratively with our teaching team to deliver a rich, inclusive, and engaging learning programme aligned with Te Whariki.

About Us – Mo Matou

At Educare Taupiri, we are committed to creating a welcoming and nurturing environment where tamariki feel a strong sense of belonging and are supported to learn, grow, and thrive.

Our team values strong relationships with whanau, tamariki, and the wider community. We embrace a culture of manaaki, where we learn together and respect each other's ways of knowing, being, and doing.

About the Role – Mo te Turanga

As an Unregistered Teacher, you will work alongside qualified kaiako to support children's learning, development, and wellbeing throughout the day.

You will be involved in daily routines, play-based learning experiences, and building meaningful relationships with tamariki and their whanau. You will contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every child can flourish.

This position is 30 hours per week, working rostered shifts Monday to Friday. While regular hours will be agreed, we are ideally looking for someone who can demonstrate flexibility to support the changing needs of the centre when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of a high-quality early childhood education programme
  • Build warm, respectful, and trusting relationships with tamariki and whanau
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative and supportive team culture
  • Assist with daily routines, learning experiences, and documentation
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment
  • Follow centre policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements
  • Support the centre in providing the best possible outcomes for tamariki
