Club Manager - Wellington

Naenae Bowling Club is looking for an experience self-motivated Club Manager to manage our thriving world class facilities in Lower Hutt. As a member of Clubs NZ, and Bowls New Zealand, we host many Club, Regional, National and International bowls events, as well as providing headquarters for many community groups and clubs.

Working closely with the Board, the Club Manager has the opportunity to jointly build and deliver strategic vision for the club, and takes a one-team approach, a role model for the leadership, values and principles which underpin the the Naenae Bowling Club, enhancing its credibility and reputation.

Provide strategic roadmap identifying opportunities for social media growth and ensuring the development capability whist working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

The Club Manager must demonstrate strength and experience across the core functional responsibilities of leadership, high performance, marketing communications, relationship management, customer service, financial accountability and commercial management.

The role will manage the day to day running of the club, that has an annual turnover of $1m+ through its membership of 1000+, and its bar and gaming operations. The club is seeking substantial growth in corporate membership, social membership and function revenue.

With a good understanding of sporting club environments, our new manager will have the drive for continual improvement in all facets of club activities and management.

Core Role Experience:
  • Highly skilled relationship experience - Internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of Class 4 Gaming operations and legislative compliance
  • Obtain DIA clearance for gaming licence
  • Manage, support and develop our dedicated high functioning team of staff and contractors
  • XERO Financial system - must have solid knowledge of XERO
  • Financial and Board reporting experience
  • Generation of revenue from membership growth
  • Strong knowledge in using Microsoft 365 suite
  • Good knowledge of all Social Media platforms
  • Compete at website management and digital communications
  • Establishing a Marketing and Events Committee

You will be supported by a pro-active board and given autonomy to "own the role" and make your mark, reporting to the Board Chair. An attractive remuneration package is on offer for the right candidate, including the tools to do the job, laptop and phone expenses.
