We're currently seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our Bay of Plenty team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled mechanic who enjoys working independently, solving technical challenges, and building strong relationships with customers while being supported by a knowledgeable and friendly team.
About the Role
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing forklifts and material handling equipment both in the field and within the workshop.No two days are the same, and you'll play a key role in keeping our customers' operations running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose faults and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on forklifts and material handling equipment
- Attend customer breakdowns and provide prompt, professional support
- Complete jobs safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of workmanship
- Prepare accurate service reports and maintain job records
- Provide repair recommendations and quotations where required
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Maintain equipment in accordance with manufacturer standards and company procedures
- Promote and follow health and safety best practices
- Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain technical expertise
About You
We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a team that values professionalism, reliability, and customer service.
Ideally, you will have:- A recognised mechanical trade qualification or strong mechanical background
- At least 3–5 years' experience in forklift, heavy equipment, automotive, agricultural, or related industries
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience working independently in a field service environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong time management and organisational abilities
- A practical, hands-on approach with a solutions-focused mindset
- A positive attitude and willingness to support teammates when required
- A full, clean New Zealand Driver's Licence
