Registered Nurse

About the Role We are seeking an experienced registered nurse who is passionate about improving the experience for patients with a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of cancer.
You will be leading the Cancer Nurse Co-ordination Team who work across the continuum of health care, actively interacting with diagnostic and treatment services to improve cancer patients' health outcomes. You will be a key contact for patients and assist with reducing barriers, so they reach treatment within recommended timeframes.

Work with services to build sustained, quality improvements into FCT targets.About the Team/Service Location This role is focused on the first 62 days of the patient pathway, from referral with high suspicion of cancer through to definitive treatment.
You will work on individual tumour streams working alongside clinical teams, assisting with early referral to supportive care and participating in multi-disciplinary meetings. You will be part of an enthusiastic and supportive team with opportunities for professional development.About you Skills & Experience:Essential Professional Qualifications / Accreditations / Registrations skills and experience:Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ)A current APC and scope appropriate to place of workDemonstrates an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in the nursing roleA commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for MāoriA personal commitment to on-going learning and development including attainment/maintenance of PDRP Post Graduate Certificate, working towards Post Graduate DiplomaAt least 5 years' experience as an RNDemonstrated capability in a nursing leadershipExperience in leading quality improvement initiativesDevelopment, implementation and monitoring of policies, audits, protocols and guidelinesWorking at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
