Aavya Hospitality Limited operates an Indian restaurant t/a Aamod Indian Restaurant in Bulls and an Indian takeaway t/a Curry 2 Go in Whanganui. We provide a range of diversified authentic India cuisines. We are now hiring Cooks.

Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week (Minimum 30 hours guaranteed)

Payrate $28.18 to $30 per hour

Number of positions vacant: 3

• examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
• regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
• preparing and cooking food
• seasoning food during cooking
• portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
• storing food in temperature controlled facilities
• preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
• may plan menus and estimate food requirements
• may train other kitchen staff and apprentices

• Relevant Level 2 or higher qualification in cooking field or at least one year relevant work experience is required.
• Be available to work on weekends and public holidays as per the roster
• Flexibility to work within a 7-Days a week operation including split shifts
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with good communication skills and team spirit
• Able to work till late evenings
