The purpose of the ward is to support consumers in their move from a more securesetting, either Te Whare Manaaki or Te Whare Hohou Roko, to a less secureenvironment, and then onto the community.

About YouWeare seeking a Registered Nurse to join this team on apermanent basis.Mental health experience is essential, ideally with previousnursing experience working in Forensic Mental Health.As a professional highly motivated nurse, who displays a positive attitude and enthusiasm for this area of work, you will enjoy being part of a committed MDT, you will work in collaboration with a group of professionals that recognises the importance of providing quality care and services to their patients, friends and whānau.
Working within a multi-disciplinary team, community supports and our inpatient team your ability to think on your feet and identify and manage risk, both on the ward and in the communityAs this is a 24/7 service, the roster pattern encompasses a rotating roster of morning, afternoon and night shifts.
Full availability for all is required.Skills and experienceIn order to be successful in this role, the following is required:Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC and mental health scope;Have a full New Zealand driver- s license;Knowledge of and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi;A positive solution focused approach, initiative;Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a close team.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuringexcellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
