Burwood Hospital provides inpatient andoutpatient rehabilitation services for people in the Canterbury region.As a NZregistered Psychologist, with relevant post graduate Diploma, this positionprovides the opportunity to work with people experiencing an array of factorsaffecting their wellbeing.
We work in teams of doctors, nurses andtherapists to help patients reclaim areas of function in their lives that areimpacted as a result of injury and illness. You will help patients (andtheir Whānau) todevelop strategies to manage symptoms and disabilities, to manage pain, toadapt and to re-establish integrity and independence.
The patientpopulation our teams serve, span a wide age range, from diverse ethnic andsocial backgrounds. Such diversity provides a stimulating mix of familiar andnovel clinical issues and challenges.About YouBring your experience working with individuals and groupsdelivering education, biopsychosocial assessment and evidence basedpsychological therapies.
As well asindividual and group-based patient care, you will be a key participant in teamsmade up of a range of disciplines, providing a vital psychological perspectiveat meetings, and in treatment planning. Training and or experience in some or all of the following areaswould be welcome:Assessment and rehabilitation of people who have experienced injuries, illness and chronic health conditions.
