Job Summary:
Responsible for accurately assessing the cost of construction projects, including materials, labour, and other associated costs. Overseeing and maintaining all H&S aspects withing the scaffolding confines, Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for accurately assessing the cost of construction projects, including materials, labour, and other associated costs. Overseeing and maintaining all H&S aspects withing the scaffolding confines, Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates
- Analyse blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the scope of work and material requirements.
- Identify and assess potential risks
- Prepare and submit tender proposals
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers
- Monitor and track project costs
- Provide cost advice and guidance
- Equally comfortable in the office and visiting construction sites
- Preparing site specific safety plans (sssp’s)
- Site audits
- Maintaining H&S documents, plus external accreditations.
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry (3+ years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand construction standards, codes, and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of construction hazards and proactive approach to risk management
- Investigate incidents, near misses and their reporting
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., BuildSoft, CostX, or similar).
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies in project documentation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Full NZ Drivers Licence
- Experience in specific sectors such as residential, commercial, or civil construction.
- Knowledge of the New Zealand construction market, trends, and suppliers.
