Part-Time Lawyer - Debt Collection

Key Responsibilities:

Advising on debt recovery matters and legal remedies under NZ law

Drafting letters of demand, settlement agreements, and legal notices

Preparing and filing claims with the Disputes Tribunal and District Court

Guiding enforcement actions such as charging orders, attachments, repossessions

Ensuring all debt collection activity complies with the Fair Trading Act, Privacy Act, and CCCFA

Requirements:

Admitted to practise in New Zealand with a current practising certificate

1+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally in debt recovery or civil litigation

Strong understanding of NZ debt collection procedures and court processes

Confident, well-organised, and able to work independently

Based in or able to regularly travel to Dunedin
