Principal Advisor - Monitoring and Reportingat Crown Response Office131,082 - 160,705
Crown Response Office Wellington
The Crown Response Office was established in September 2024 to coordinate and facilitate cross-government decision making and implement the Crown's response to the Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry. The Office sits within the Public Service Commission.
The creation of the Office within a central Government agency was a key recommendation in the Royal Commission's final report, Whanaketia - through pain and trauma, from darkness to light. The Crown Response Office plays an important strategic, advisory and coordination role to ensure the Crown is joined up and focused on the right priorities.
We currently have a newly created fixed term or secondment opportunity until 30 June 2027. The Principal Advisor Monitoring and Reporting is responsible for establishing and leading a reporting and monitoring framework that evaluates, tracks and reports on the progress of the Crown's response.
This role provides timely reporting and assurance to senior management and key stakeholders facilitating informed decision making and continuous improvement in the delivery of the Crown's response. This role will work closely with other teams in Crown Response Office and other agencies to align with engagement, delivery and redress system strategy.
Key accountabilities include: Develop and maintain monitoring and reporting frameworks, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), milestones, and reflecting outcome measures to report on the progress of the Crown's response. Establish mechanisms for early identification of challenges that may impact effective delivery of the Crown's response.
Recommend and implement enhancements to monitoring and reporting tools ensuring they remain fit for purpose. Produce progress reports on actions, outcomes and performance against established indicators. Integrate data from multiple sources to produce clear, concise and actionable reports.
Prepare reports for internal and external governance groups, Ministers and the public. Lead coordination across agencies to ensure consistent monitoring and reporting of milestones, timelines, and outcomes. Understand the broader Crown response context, and how different agency responsibilities intersect.
Facilitate interagency collaboration and information sharing. Facilitate smooth communication between agencies involved in the Crown's response, ensuring clarity and cohesion in reporting and operational practices. You will bring: Strong experience in leading business/data analysis and reporting development in large, complex organisations.
Ability to design reports and visualisations that are insightful, accurate, and user-friendly. Expert writing skills, experience and demonstrated capability in successfully communicating effectively to diverse audiences. Experience providing advice to Senior Leaders and Ministers including the development of briefings and internal memorandums.
Experience in building and maintaining effective working relationships and excellent stakeholder management skills. Experience of undertaking proactive monitoring and analysis, in-depth resolution with stakeholders and other interventions in respect of complex systemic issues.
