HVAC and Refrigeration Service Technician - Alexandra

Central Refrigeration is a leading provider of HVAC and refrigeration systems based in Alexandra. We specialise in commercial & residential, servicing a wide range of clients from hospitality through to government entities. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-established business that is also a preferred installer for Daikin in the region.

This role is a full-time position (40 hours per week) based in Alexandra, pay rate negotiable depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities: (IN EITHER FIELDS)

• Conduct regular maintenance visits to inspect and service HVAC and/or refrigeration systems in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with HVAC and/or refrigeration systems, including mechanical, electrical, and control components.
• Perform diagnostics and repair faulty or damaged parts/systems.
• Conduct system tests and evaluations to ensure systems are operating efficiently and in compliance manufacturer requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service by resolving client inquiries, explaining technical information in a clear manner, and offering recommendations for system improvements.
• Keep accurate records of service calls, maintenance tasks, and equipment documentation.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient scheduling and completion of service jobs.
• Stay updated on the latest technology and advancements through learning and professional development.

• A minimum of 4 years experience as an HVAC and/or Refrigeration Service Technician,
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and/or refrigeration systems, components, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Proficient in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues in HVAC and/or refrigeration systems.
• Understanding of control systems and Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information effectively with clients.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities to prioritize service calls and meet deadlines.
• Must have a valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites within Central Otago.
• Must have a valid EST practicing license
• Due to client requirements all employees must be able to pass a police check under the Vulnerable persons act 2014.
• Must have a current fillers and handlers certification.
