**Te** **kowhiringa | The Opportunity**
The main goal of this job is to perform regular maintenance and fix pump station problems in Auckland's Northwestern water and wastewater networks. You will also help with construction projects, which can range from small concrete jobs to larger renewals, capital works, and drainage projects.This team is flexible, and each day will be different, giving you the chance to use your current skills and learn new ones.
You will report to the Electrical and Mechanical Supervisor. Ideally, you should have experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, preferably in the water or wastewater sector. An understanding of mechanical issues related to submersible and surface pumps, as well as treatment devices like electrical generators and compressors, would be an advantage.
**Nga pukenga matua | Important Skills**
The candidate should ideally have at least 2 years of experience working with mechanical systems, or interest and good general knowledge about mechanics, as well as:
- Experience in water, wastewater, landscape, road construction or civil infrastructure projects
- Certification in confined spaces & working at heights preferred
- Full NZ Driver Licence - Class 1 and Class 2 will be an advantage.
- Strong focus on Health and Safety
- Great work ethic & attitude
