Technical Installation Technician – Insulation & HVAC Systems
team. This role supports the design, coordination, and installation of thermal insulation and
air conditioning systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The ideal
candidate will bring a blend of technical knowledge in building systems, mechanical
services, and basic civil/welding practices to deliver high-quality installations that meet
industry and safety standards.
This position is located in Hamilton; however you may be required to travel to job siteswithin the greater Waikato/Auckland areas. On occasions, this may include overnight stays.
Pay rate will be between $26.00per hour to $32.00 per hour. This is a full-time permanentposition working a minimum of 32 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in the planning and technical coordination of insulation and HVAC system
installations. Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Conduct site measurements, calculations, and load assessments to ensure correctsystem sizing and placement.
Oversee and participate in the installation of ductwork, insulation materials, piping, and HVAC units.
Carry out or support welding, bracket fabrication, and minor structural supports
for equipment and ducting.
Inspect and test installations for compliance with safety, thermal performance, and
energy efficiency standards.
Work closely with engineers, project managers, and installers to ensure timely andcompliant project delivery.
Prepare site reports, documentation, and installation logs.
Support ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting of installed systems as required.
Skills & Experience: Relevant Diploma and/or work experience preferred; however full training will be
provided for the right candidate. Knowledge of insulation materials, HVAC systems, and installations.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and perform basic design adjustments on-site.
Experience in or exposure to welding and basic fabrication techniques, preferred.
Strong understanding of safety practices, building codes, and energy efficiencystandards.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Work Conditions: Work is conducted both in office settings (for planning and reporting) and on
construction or retrofit sites. PPE and safety compliance are mandatory.
Travel to local project sites is required.
