Job Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in accordance with authentic techniques and restaurant standards. The role includes ensuring food safety, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and supporting kitchen operations to deliver high-quality meals in a timely manner.

• Prepare, cook, and present authentic Chinese cuisine (e.g. stir-fries, dumplings, noodle dishes, hot pot, etc.) according to the restaurant’s menu.
• Ensure all food preparation meets hygiene and quality standards, including proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as woks, rice cookers, steamers, and knives safely and efficiently.
• Assist in planning daily food preparation and coordinating with kitchen staff to manage timing and presentation of dishes.
• Monitor inventory and inform management of supply needs or low stock.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils according to food safety regulations.
• Follow portion control standards and minimize food wastage.
• Work effectively with the team during busy service periods to maintain speed and consistency.
• Adhere to workplace health and safety policies, and report any hazards or incidents to management.

• An AZQF level 4 qualification
• At least three years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques, sauces, and ingredients.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Maximum hourly rate (high salary range): $28
