About the RoleWe have an opportunity for a proficient/expert RN to work within the elective service team to support patients and family prepare for their surgery/ procedure. The role includes working alongside the Clinical Nurse Specialist/Specialty Clinical Nurses triaging, preparing patients for surgery.
The role supports a range of surgical procedures. This role includes triaging, phone assessments with patients and whanau, it includes communicating with the wider health care team to ensure the patient is prepared and ready for their procedure.

About the Team/ServiceThe Surgical Resource team includes the elective service team which works to support patients and family preparing for surgery, ensuring meeting the relevant health targets to support timely access.We offer a supportive team and ongoing educational support.

This is a progressive service looking to develop the team and service About youRequired skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:Registered Nurse minimum 2 years’ experience in a surgical specialityKnowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o WaitangiA current practicing certificateCompeted a Professional Development and Recognition Programme at proficient and/or aboveA strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skillsAdaptability, flexibility and agility Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
