Exciting Opportunity for a Senior Nurse or Anaesthetic Technician
Permanent - Part time (0.5 FTE) position

About the Role

We have an opportunity for an experienced perioperative nurse or technician to further their career focusing on education, training and development within a passionate perioperative educator team.

In this role you will:

Be responsible for professional development of nursing staff and health care assistants in the perioperative area, including teaching on and supporting those who are new to the scrub/circulating roles in the operating rooms

Contribute to hospital wide development and leadership of nursing and patient focused initiatives

Provide support to all perioperative departments. You will be primarily based in Level 8 OR which provides acute and elective general surgery (including colorectal, breast and hepatobiliary), urology, vascular, orthopaedics, neurosurgery (adults and paediatrics), transplantation (kidney, liver and pancreas - adults and paediatrics) and trauma.

This is a permanent role working 0.5 FTE, Monday to Sunday.

This is a part-time role. There may be opportunity to combine this role with a clinical role. We are looking for a registered nurse or anaesthetic technician a with a passion for education, who is already on or completed a post graduate pathway.

While the role provides support to surgical and perioperative areas, your focus will be OR scrub/circulating roles.

About You

We are looking for:

An expert/senior nurse or senior anaesthetic technician with relevant clinical experience
A Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma or Masters in specialty practice.

Sound knowledge of clinical teaching/learning methods well-developed communication and critical thinking skills.
