Community Support Worker — Supported Accommodation**

We are looking for a caring and reliable **Community Support Worker** to support a young person who is currently at school and enjoys being active and engaged both at home and in the community.
Looking for someone with experience in mental health and dealing with challening behaviours!
**About the person you will support**- You will be supporting a young person who enjoys:
- ?? Bike riding and scooter rides
- ?? Playing basketball
- ?? Going for van rides and getting out into the community
- ?? Listening to music
He communicates using **visual supports and words**, so it is important you are patient, attentive, and comfortable using visuals to support communication and understanding.
He benefits from routine, encouragement, and support to stay engaged in activities and the community.
**About the role**- As a Community Support Worker, you will:
- Support participation in hobbies and community activities
- Encourage independence and daily routines
- Use visual communication tools to support understanding and choice
- Assist with daily living tasks as needed
- Build a positive, trusting relationship
Support will be shaped around school hours and routines, with flexibility required.
**Who we are looking for**- You are:
- Patient, calm, and engaging
- Comfortable supporting someone who uses visual communication
- Active and enjoy getting out in the community
- Reliable and able to build positive relationships
- Full NZ driver’s licence (preferred)
- Ability to pass a NZ Police check
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to learn (training provided)
Experience in disability support is helpful but not essential — **attitude and connection matter most**.
