Heavy Diesel Field Service Mechanic – Oamaru

We are seeking a self-motivated and qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic with proven field service experience. You’ll be working independently across North Otago, servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of heavy equipment and machinery both in and out of the workshop — from civil construction gear to agricultural and forestry machinery as well as road transport and so much more!

• What You’ll Be Doing:
• Field servicing and repairs of heavy diesel machinery
• Diagnostics, fault finding and breakdown response
• Preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
• Building great relationships with our clients
• Managing your own workload and service truck
• Keeping accurate job records and timesheets
• What We’re Looking For:
• Trade qualified diesel mechanic (NZQA L4 or equivalent)
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in heavy diesel field service
• Strong diagnostic skills (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical)
• Able to work independently and think on your feet
• Full NZ driver license (Class 2 or WTR an advantage)
• Good communicator with solid customer service skills
• Health & Safety aware and takes pride in your work
