Experienced Transport Driver - Class 5 Licence

Hawkes Bay Crane & Platform Hire is a family-owned crane, platform and transport company located in Whakatu, Hawkes Bay.

We have a position available within our team for an experienced, reliable, and energetic Class 5 transport driver.

The role will require someone who has/is able to:

• At least 5 years experience in loading/unloading, securing and transporting machinery and heavy loads etc.
• Hold Class 5 driver licence.
• Forklift licence – preferred but not essential
• EWP operator licence (not essential as training will be given).
• Clean and full driver’s licence.

• Drive trucks to transport EWPs, materials, machinery, including heavy earthmoving equipment etc.
• Complete daily truck pre-start checks.
• Complete weekly truck checks
• Load truck with EWPs, materials, machinery, etc.
• Ensure the truck is not overloaded.
• Check the condition of the load and that it is secure.
• Follow correct safety procedures.
• Keep electronic records of goods carried.
• Plan the best delivery route in co-ordination with the Dispatch – EWPs and Dispatch – Cranes.
• Make deliveries and pick up goods in a timely and efficient manner.
• Keep a logbook of hours.
• Wash down and check over EWPs with checklist and report diesel usage, any damage, etc.
• Wash and keep truck clean

• Competent.
• Effectively communicate with our Dispatch Co-ordinator.
• Hard working and motivated.
• Physically fit as this is a labour-intensive role.
• Respectful to customers.
• Dedicated.
• Team Player.
• Have a high level of honesty and integrity.
• Work well under pressure in both a team and unsupervised environment

You will be working within a medium team (including crane operators, truck drivers and support staff) who are all highly motivated and who hold health and safety in high regard.

The minimum hours of work will be 7.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday but you must be available for weekend and after hours work on occasions.

Remuneration will be between $35-$38 hour in line with skills and experience, and a monthly cellphone and boot allowance is paid.
