For 40 years, Odyssey House Christchurch has had a mission to improve the wellbeing of individuals, family and community affected by drug and alcohol addiction, mental health and related issues.

At our men's residential service in Burnside, we are supporting men in their alcohol and drug treatment and recovery with a particular focus on community.

In this role, you will:
  • Take part in community activities including meal preparation and recreation activities
  • Facilitate groups as scheduled
  • Work alongside our residents in their day to day activities
  • Manage administration processes for medications, handovers and resident requests
To be successful in this role, you will:
  • Be a qualified Support Worker or working towards a Level 4 qualification
  • Be experienced working with clients in the mental health or addiction sector
  • Have excellent organisation skills, being able to respond to proactive and reactive requirements of the residents
  • Be competent with computers and databases
  • Show good interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with residents, family/whanau, colleagues, and other health providers.
  • Have your Full drivers licence.
  • Have the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Must be available to work afternoons/evenings and a weekend day as rostered. We are open to receiving applications from people who are looking for 3 or more 8 hour shifts per week.
