Salisbury School is seeking caring, reliable, and values-driven people to join our Night Team as Relieving Kaiawhina (Support Staff). These are awake roles which are central to ensuring our students experience a safe, calm, and nurturing overnight environment.

** About the Role***
As a Night Team member, you will:- Provide calm, respectful overnight supervision and care.
- Support student wellbeing and safety throughout the night.
- Work as part of a collaborative residential team but independently on your shift.
- Contribute to a warm, homelike environment where students can rest and feel secure.
- Work confidently within the school’s policies and procedures.
- Bring empathy, discretion, and the ability to remain calm and responsive overnight.
Experience working with young people is highly valued.
*** About You ***
We are looking for a confident, independent, and reliable Night Team member who can oversee a residential pod overnight, with on-call support available.
You will be someone who:- Can work autonomously, problem-solve, and use initiative while ensuring student safety and wellbeing.
- Works effectively within school policies and procedures.
- Has a strong record of work attendance and reliability.
- Is a ‘night owl’ and comfortable with shift work.
- Brings previous experience in care, education, health, social services, or a related field.
- Is comfortable using computers and technology; training and induction will be provided.
- Is willing to undertake first aid training (paid by the school) and other induction training, such as medication administration.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills and effective interpersonal abilities, building respectful and supportive relationships with students and colleagues.
Is empathetic, discreet, and able to maintain a calm and professional presence overnight.
