We’d love you to join ours. We’re looking for an experienced building maintenance assistant to work alongside our existing property staff at our prestigious school in Epsom.

We have a Full time, 12-month, Fixed Term vacancy available within our Property Team. Reporting to the Building Maintenance Manager.

As our Property Assistant specializing in Carpentry, you'll ensure our school buildings, fittings, and fixtures are maintained in excellent condition while creating custom wooden structures that enhance our educational environment. You will:
  • Build and repair wooden furniture, cabinets, and fixtures tailored to educational needs
  • Design, construct, and install custom shelving systems for classrooms, libraries, and storage areas
  • Create specialized learning spaces based on teacher requirements
  • Perform general carpentry maintenance throughout school buildings
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings for construction projects
  • Respond promptly to repair requests and participate in facility improvement projects
  • Maintain woodworking equipment and ensure workshop safety
  • Contribute to a clean, tidy, safe, and compliant school environment
You’ll have:
  • 3+ years of professional carpentry experience
  • Demonstrated precision with shelving installation and custom cabinetry
  • Proficiency with both hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of wood types and appropriate applications
  • Height safety qualification and Worksafe passport
  • Current full driver's license (must be able to drive manual vehicles)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and good command of English
  • Computer literacy
  • Experience working independently while maintaining quality standards
