Job Shop Team Leader
Are you ready to take a step into leadership of a busy Job Shop?
Job Shop / Customer Service Team Leader
For over fifty years, We Can Precision Engineering has built a reputation as a problem-solving designer and manufacturer of precision components, critical engineering spares and complex engineering parts and assemblies.
We are now seeking our next Job Shop and customer focused leader to guide and support our Job Shop team and be our first point of contact with customers for service or quoting. Reporting to the General Manager, this is an opportunity for someone early in their career to take the next step from the floor to a leadership role, or for an associated and experienced person to use their machining knowledge in a way that benefits our customers and the wider team.
To be successful in this role you must have:- A high level of machining knowledge of manual equipment including manual lathes, milling machines, grinding, hobbing, gear cutting machines and some CNC experience is desirable.
- The ability to offer robust solutions to our diverse range of customers, especially under the pressure of breakdowns and short lead times.
- Ability to work within a Leadership Team that adds value to the whole of We Can.
- A ‘We Can’ attitude to work.
- Though not essential, we would prefer a relevant trade qualification as a fitter & turner or mechanical engineer, and the desire and patience to help guide our apprentices in our Job Shop area.
- Desire to take the step from a skilled or experienced machinist, or associated skill set, into a well-supported leadership and mentoring role.
- Ability to liaise and communicate with our customers and suppliers daily.
- Ability to quote and assign work within the Job Shop Team and liaise with the CNC Team when required.
- Proven ability to prioritise workload and work in a structured manner.
- Good general computer literacy and the ability and desire to learn our ERP system M1.
We offer interesting and varied work, in a leading engineering business with a great team-work environment in our well-equipped premises in sunny Hawke’s Bay.
