We aim to assist you in further developing your clinical practice and critical thinking skills with a programme and environment that supports your individual needs including providing a nominated preceptor to support your entry into the profession.Our programme is a comprehensive 54 week program, 32 hours (0.8FTE) per week with the flexibility of 0.6FTE being considered.As a new graduate in your Midwifery First Year of Practice, you will gain experience in the following areas:Antenatal careLabour and birth
  • provide primary/secondary/tertiary labour care plus theatre and post anaesthetic carePostnatal care
  • spend valuable time with Lactation Consultant and Special Care Baby Unit as optionOur supportive teams nurture new graduates
  • we provide a comprehensive orientation and work closely with Otago University and Te Pūkenga.
