This is a casual position, and hours may vary depending on operational requirements.
About the Role: We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Security Officer’s to join our Dunedin team!
Reliability is essential in this role - as a crucial guardian of public safety, you will play a vital role in ensuring the security of infrastructure, preventing trespassing, vandalism, and other offences that may occur on-site. This role places a strong emphasis on accurate written reports, monitoring entry and exit points, and delivering a high standard of customer service.
You will primarily be involved in functions, events, and static guard work, with the opportunity to be trained into patrols and animal control.
Key Responsibilities include:- Provide a visible security presence to deter and manage security risks
- Monitor and report suspicious activity to ensure a safe environment
- Engage professionally with clients, customers, and the public
- Respond effectively to incidents and follow security protocols
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to uphold safety and security standards
To progress through the recruitment process, you must consent to and be able to satisfy pre-employment checks, including:
- Driver’s License, Credit Checks, Ministry of Justice Criminal History and Immigration checks.
- Previous experience in Security (functions, events, or static work preferred)
- Currently reside in the Dunedin region
- Hold a current Certificate of Approval (COA)
- Articulate and a comprehensive understanding of the written and spoken English language.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Professional attitude, reliable, physically fit, and well-presented
- Able to command a confident and authoritative presence
- Comfortable working in roles that require physical resilience and visibility
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- Reliable transport to get to and from work sites
