About the RoleAs a Health Promotor, you will be responsible for providing planning, implementation support and advice to enable a strong Smokefree focus in community settings. The position has a particular focus on:enabling and building capacity within the community to improve the rate of cessation support in line with Smokefree Health Promotion, Service Utilisation and Population Health Plans and the Smokefree 2025 vision of Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau.reducing the persistent population health inequities that are associated with high smoking prevalence rates in Counties Manukau by taking a population health and holistic wellbeing approach that is responsive and client/ whanau-ledThe position is a fixed term full time role which will also manage a small caseload as part of Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau stop smoking service and will be responsible for providing evidence-based smoking cessation support and addressing holistic wellbeing needs (integrating with wraparound support services) for clients in the community that are referred to the Smokefree Service.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.
