About the Role

As a Casual Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting, labelling, and delivering blood samples for diagnostic testing. This is a flexible, casual role where you'll be called upon as needed to support Laboratory Services during staff absences or workload fluctuations This is an opportunity to be part of a responsive, patient-focused team where your attention to detail and interpersonal skills will ensure quality and efficiency in sample collection and care.

Our Laboratory Services team is a close-knit, highly skilled group of pathologists, scientists, and phlebotomists who deliver accurate and timely diagnostic services. We pride ourselves on a culture of teamwork and professional support that ensures the best outcomes for our patients.

About you

As a Casual Phlebotomist, you will bring:

Previous experience as a phlebotomist in a hospital or medical laboratory setting
Proficiency in venepuncture and patient-centred sample collection
Excellent communication and time management skills
Accuracy in labelling and handling samples
Understanding of infection control practices and safe work environments

Familiarity with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a willingness to develop in these areas
