We are seeking a full-time Cook to join our kitchen team in Kaikoura. This is a hands-on role in a busy kitchen environment, involving food preparation, cooking during service, and maintaining high food safety standards.

The successful candidate will be expected to work across different sections of the kitchen, manage their tasks efficiently during service, and contribute to maintaining consistency in food quality and presentation.

This role requires availability for split shifts (morning and evening), including weekends and public holidays.

Applicants should have at least 2 years of relevant kitchen experience, be comfortable working independently when required, and be able to support the team during service.

Key tasks:

Preparing and cooking menu items according to established recipes
Assisting with daily food preparation (cutting, portioning, organizing ingredients)
Working across different kitchen sections (grill, fryer, prep)
Cooking during busy service and supporting the team as needed
Plating dishes with consistency and attention to details
Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards at all time
Cleaning and organizing the kitchen workplace
Assisting with stock rotation and proper food storage
Supporting overall kitchen operations
