Barista - cafe all rounder

The Shack is a well-loved local cafe known for great coffee, fresh seasonal food, and a welcoming community atmosphere. With strong daily coffee demand, we need a barista who thrives in a busy environment and takes pride in their craft.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve high-quality espresso beverages with speed, accuracy, and consistency
• Manage busy service periods confidently and maintain smooth workflow on the machine
• Provide friendly, professional customer service at all times
• Take orders and process POS transactions accurately
• Assist with food preparation and general cafe service when required
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety
• Monitor stock levels and support restocking and inventory tasks
• Contribute positively to a team-focused, supportive work environment

Requirements:

• Previous barista experience in a busy café environment
• Ability to handle high-volume coffee service (25–40kg per week experience ideal)
• Strong milk texturing skills and confident latte art
• Good understanding of grind adjustment and espresso calibration
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays
• Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong team mindset
