About the RoleOrderlies play an integral part in the patient journey,ensuring the delivery of exceptional quality care in our facilities.They are there to safely transfer confidential mail and move patients aroundthe hospital.

Our team provides essential orderly services within AshburtonHospital.We are looking for someone that has great customer serviceskills who can think on their feet, multitask and can work under pressure.

To be considered for this role you will need to be physically fit to be able towork on your feet for your entire shift as well as being able to move patientsaround the hospital with ease and professionalism.We are a small team of orderlies who support each other when required.

Our teamenvironment thrives on hard work and consistent delivery, we have mutualrespect and support one another to get the tasks completed.In this role, you will be responsible for:Ensuring that all tasks and duties are prioritised, and are carried out effectively, efficiently and without unnecessary delay.Sort and deliver mail parcels and supply packages through the hospital.Transferring confidential medical recordsPatient transfersDelivering the meal trolley to the wards.Cover emergency calls and the day orderly during breaks and busy times.

Relief rubbish collection, Mortuary duties and any other duties required.About youSkills and Experience:An enthusiastic and people-focussed approach to your workYou will have excellent customer service skillsYou will be physically fit and be able to be on your feet for an entire shift as the role involves a lot of walking and some lifting around the hospital.Flexibility and ReliabilityPhone and basic computer skillsAbility to multitask and prioritise jobsFull NZ Drivers Licence preferredWorking for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is
