About Us:Ngati Ruanui Tahua Limited is a whanau ora service provider in South Taranaki, offering a kaupapa Maori holistic approach to wellbeing for all people in our community. Our operations encompass healthcare, general practice, kohanga reo, early childhood education, whanau ora, social services, and community outreach.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Whanau Ora Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational management across our community-based wellbeing services. Based in Hawera, this permanent full-time role is a key leadership position reporting to the General Manager and leading teams including Social Workers (school and community-based) and Kaiarahi who focus on advocacy, Rangatahi support, Tane support, Kuia and Koroua care, and other whanau driven services.
About the Role:This role will suit a motivated and creative leader who can oversee a diverse team, drive our Whanau Ora model of care and ensure high-quality community wellbeing services. The successful incumbent will manage staff performance and development, lead contract delivery, ensure cultural appropriateness and collaborate across the organisation (internal and external) and community to enhance whanau health and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include:- Providing operational and strategic direction for Whanau Ora services.
- Managing community-based contracts and programmes of work, and ensuring service delivery meets funding requirements.
- Leading, mentoring and coaching teams to support their professional development and performance.
- Ensuring whanau receive appropriate navigation, support and access to internal and external services.
- Supporting wellness planning and participating in case management.
- Monitoring and reporting service performance and outcomes.
- Promoting a collaborative, culturally safe and respectful environment.
You are a capable and culturally grounded leader with:
- Proven leadership experience in the social and/or health sector.
- A formal qualification and/or lived experience in health, clinical or community services.
- Strong commercial acumen, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience and understanding of the Whanau Ora model of care.
- Confidence in coaching and mentoring and managing diverse teams.
- A deep appreciation of Iwi values and Treaty principles.
