About the RoleWe are looking for individuals who can support our taangata whaiora and their whaanau during their admission period in our in-patient wards.Maaori are significantly represented across our services, which is why we are moving towards becoming a `culturally led, clinically underpinned service.
Delivering excellent care in a culturally responsive manner, to support the best outcomes for Maaori, is fundamental to our mahi. Key responsibilities:Report observed changes in tangata whaioras health status to the registered health professionalHave an understanding of potential/ actual risk factors and how to de-escalate and escalate to ensure the safety of our tāngata whaioraApply culturally safe principles in the workplace Click here to view the position description.
About the Team/ServiceThe Henry Rongomau Bennett Centre (HRBC) offers opportunities to work in either acute or rehabilitation areas. There are also casual positions available in our mental health bureau team.Candidates with a good understanding of Te Ao Maaori and the ability to support our Maaori tangata whaiora through a strong Te Ao Maaori lens will be prioritised for interview.
