Broadway Diner is an iconic burger cart run by the same family since 1962. We are looking for 2 x reliable hard working Cooks, to join our small team.
The Role: Your Duties and Responsibilities
This is a fun, busy and varied role where you will interact with our loyal customers, take orders and process payments, cook and prepare food, and perform cleaning tasaks.
Key duties include:- Taking orders from customers in a professional and friendly manner
- Processing payment for orders
- Conferring with customers and recommending dishes.
- Dealing with customer complaints
- Cooking orders in accordance with our recipes
- Preparation of food for cooking
- Monitoring and maintaining stock levels
- Ordering stock
- Cleaning to a high standard
- Work Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Shifts: Shifts are flexible; however the successful applicant must work Friday and Saturday
- Hours : *Start time is between 4.30 and 10.00pm
- Finish time is between 4.00 and 6.00am
- Full-time positions are 30-45 hours
- Hourly pay rate: $25-$32 (The pay rate reflects your experience, qualifications and work ethic
Requirements and Benefits
You must have:- At least 2 years of experience as a cook.
- Great customer service skills and excellent English.
- A positive, friendly attitude.
- The ability to work well in a team.
- NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
- A clean and tidy appearance
- A driver's license is useful and own transport is desirable as you will finish work in the early hours of the morning.
- An applicant who can drive a tractor or is willing to learn is preferred (Our Diner is towed by a tractor).
- We will offer you free meals while you work.
