About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Whangarei based Mental Health and Addictions Service as a Community Support Worker. This role provides care and support to clients with complex needs. You will collaborate with a great team to support clients health and wellbeing, allowing them to reach their potential and optimise their quality of life.

The role involves home visits and making community connections so no two days are the same.

About the Team/Service/Location

The Regional Dual Disability Mental Health Service works with people with learning disabilities who also have significant mental health concerns. We also provide support and advice for some of the families/whanau, carers and professionals who support this community.

About you

Previous experience of knowledge of working with people with mental health challenges and/or intellectual disabilities would be an advantage. However, if you have at least two years' experience in a health or social care setting we would love to hear from you as we provide a comprehensive training and education package.

It would be advantageous if you have a Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Mental Health, or a recognised equivalent qualification, or be willing to complete study towards this qualification.

A current full New Zealand driver's licence is essential.
